"So what IS SEL, anyway?" 
The state of Maine has developed a Social-Emotional Learning curriculum for schools. Given the impact of COVID and all of the social time our children lost with remote instruction and masking our faces from one another, our children have missed out on a lot of developmental readiness for learning.
SEL instruction provides lessons around five main core human competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making.
